Throckmorton's Feed and Seed    Natural Spring

Denmark, founded in the 1800's is located off U.S. Highway 167N on Highway 87S between Velvet Ridge and Pleasant Plains in what used to be Arkansas' native hardwood forest. People have been coming to get water from Alred Spring (named for John W. Alred) where a 200-year old Oak tree stands. It is one of two artesian springs used by whites in the area for at least 100 years.
At on time Denmark, a post stop, was an important place along the way in the wagon train days where people came to buy groceries and both Confederate, led by General McRae and Union soldiers camped there.
