Many of the new residents and businesses came from Stoney Point to be near the new railroad. The Beebe (Beebe Station) Post Office was established April 30, 1872.  Beebe was incorporated on April 15, 1875.

Beebe Mayor: School system is city's biggest asset

Beebe's school system is its biggest asset, according to Mayor Mike Robertson, who called the district's facility "very professional."
"The teachers work one-on-one with the students," Robertson said, adding there are vert few problems with gangs or drugs. "We can be proud that we don't have that," he said.
The district is planning a new auditorium and junior high, in part to keep up with significant groeth.
"We're one of the fastest-groing areas in the state," robertson said. He said he attributes the spurt to its central location, about half-way between Little Rock and Searcy.
The last census set the population at close to 4,400, but Robertson estimates in is now close to 6,000, adding that much of the growth has occurred in the last two years.
"There are several hundred added to the schools alone," he said.
Fortunately, the city council is meeting the increase by cooperation among themselves, according to Robertson, who said city government, groups, clubs and schools are in good relations.
Through these relationships, the mayor said he hopes to see vast improvements in several departments in the near future. He said parks and recreation are a top priority, as the city has applied for grants through White River Development and Planning.
The city will cooperate with the schools to plan a year-round program to use school athletic property for public use in winter months, and the city's ball park will continue to expand. A new complex for concession and bathroom is in the works, and parks and recreation will also try to hire a full-time director, according to the mayor.
Other city plans include a new water and sewer system, which should "enhance growt," Robertson said, adding "it should be state-of-the-art."
