Kahlua (2-3 weeks):

4 c water
3 3/4 c sugar
3/4 c instant coffee
1/5 Vodka
vanilla bean

Bring water to boil. Add sugar and boil five minutes.
Remove from burner and add coffee - 1 spoon at a time.
Place on burner and bring to a boil. Allow to cool several minutes then add the Vodka.
Split vanilla bean lengthwise, put in gallon jug and cap tightly. Let stand for 2 to 3 weeks.
