Living in Europe we found the water was not drinkable, so we either carried it in containers from the
base to our home 20 miles away or we used this recipe. I use the same idea here but leave out the clorox.
Fill tea kettle with tap water, bring to boil. After boiling, boil for at least five minutes. Set aside to let cool.
Then pour or syphon off all but the bottom inch of water into container and you have good clear water
for drinking or making ice cubes.
