Christmas Clam Chowder:

 2 tbsp butter
1/4 medium onion coarsely chopped and sauteed in butter above
Add 1 can asparagus soup either 310 or 430g , 2 c milk (2 1/2 if using large size can), .
1 stalk celery chopped medium (or substitute celery salt for flavor)
1/2 tsp table salt
I can whole baby clams (290g with liquid)

Simmer covered I hour.

1/8  tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 fresh tomato chopped in 1" strips 1/4" wide,
to be large enough to show color (green  asparagus - red tomato - get it?)
A few shakes of paprika

Cook 15 minutes covered.
