This
is a follow up on our last meeting. Mountain Top Volkswagen
Club has been asked to be in the Christmas parade in Heber
Springs. I have checked out what is needed of us and here is
what they say. It is on December 6th and the parade
starts at 6pm but we need to be there around 5 to get lined up and
checked in. The floats that are in the parade are
lighted. If we want our group to be judged then they need to
lighted. We don't need lights to be in the parade other than
headlights and tail lights of course. We are still welcome.
We do pass candy out along the route but they say not to throw it
out as kids running out in front of cars to get candy is
dangerous. They want us to go from one side of the road to
the other and pass it out that way. The parade last around
1/2 hour and ends at other side of the park in town. It
starts at the parking lot for the chamber of commerce and the bank
across the road. This parade gets bigger every year and is
the kick off for the festival of lights. I believe we have 5
cars so far wanting to go and would love to have many more
but if you can't make it that is fine. This is a
Saturday and I hope for nice weather but who knows until the
day comes.
If you want to join in please get back with me and let me know.
There is a way to put some lights on your car using your cigarette
lighter to power them or maybe just a wreath on the front.
If you want to do nothing to the car that is fine too.
A good way to get exposure for our club and it sounds like
fun too. Again, get back with me if you want to join in.
