Robert Stanley Bobbitt Sr. DAV Van Purple Heart
Robert Stanley "Stan" Bobbitt Sr., age 65, of
Jamestown, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Jamestown Regional
Medical Center.
Mr. Bobbitt was born Sept. 16, 1942 in Providence, Ark.
Mr. Bobbitt is survived by wife, Helen Bobbitt of Jamestown;
son, Robert Stanley Bobbitt, Jr. of Oneida; two daughters, Tonya Carter and
husband Craig of Clarkrange and Trecia Phillips of Allardt; six grandchildren,
Jacob, Kristen and Robyn Bobbitt, Haleigh Phillips, Seth and Evan Carter;
brother, Chird Bobbitt of Searcy, Ark.; and sister, Earlene Bobbitt of
Gladewater,
Texas.
Mr. Bobbitt was preceded in death by parents, Flemon Benjamin and Leila Harbert Bobbitt;
two half-brothers, Willard Earl Bobbitt and Bobby Gene Reed; and one sister, Nelda
Loretta Bobbitt.
Mr. Bobbitt served 12 years in the U.S. Army and was a Viet
Nam veteran. He was active in local military affairs and ceremonies with the
VFW.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008 at noon in the Chapel of Mundy
Funeral Home with Brother Steve Looper officiating. Burial followed in the Sharp
Place Cemetery with military services conducted at graveside. Pallbearers
included David Slaven, Steve Slaven, Jackie Slaven, Jeff Wesley, Kirby Wright
and Junior Delk.
Mundy Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tenn. was in charge of services.
