William Luther Bobbitt born: 1895 died: 1985. Graduate of Memphis State University, Memphis;
He served in World War I with Co. A 11th.Inf. 5th U.S. combat division on two fronts. Taught in public schools for 44 years.
In 1919, the school board paid $5,000 for the William Fesmire property of 45 acres and constructed a high school building
at a cost of approximately $43,000. The large three-story building burned to the ground on the night of August 14, 1927.
Mr. W. L. Bobbitt climbed through a window and saved the school records. There was ample insurance and a new building
costing $51,000 was soon under construction.
Father: William Arthur Bobbitt; Mother: Martha Loretta (Tilson) Bobbitt; Wife: Frances Ione Thompson in 1933.
Children: (1)William Lee Bobbitt, a graduate of Memphis State University; he is an insurance adjuster.
He married Frances Buck, children are: William Lee Bobbitt, Jr. And Robert Edward Bobbitt.
(2) John Arthur Bobbitt He is a graduate of University of Tennessee, Knoxville and is a personnel director of
Century Electric Company, Lexington, Tennessee.
