I have just began researching the Bobbitt family in Izard Co., Ar. 
The first Bobbitt I find in Izard Co., Ar. was James Bobbitt, age 19, living in the home of Newton F. & Mary L. Fowler. 
James Bobbitt was born about 1870 in Ala and 
both his parents were born in SC. 
Newton W. Fowler and wife, Mary L. Fowler were also born in Ala. 
and both their parents were born in SC 
so I feel that James Bobbitt may have been a brother to Mary L. Bobbit. 

After James's marriage, he has a dau. named Mary L. Bobbitt. 
Any information on this family would be appreciated.
