John J. Bobbitt was a brother of Green W. Bobbitt of Fayette Co., TN.
Who ever gave the
census information about John made a mistake. John was born in N.C., not KY.
John J. and his brother Green W. were the sons of Drury and Rebecca Bobbitt of Moore Co.

My
great grandmother had a first cousin Lourany Adaline Wiggins who married Albert
W. Bobbitt around 1865.
They were living in Douglas Co. MO. I found Albert, age 5 with his parents
John J. and Martha Bobbitt in Franklin Co., AR in 1850.
Albert joined the 24th MO Infantry Co I on 31 Jul 1861 and served from 30 Nov
1861 to 17 Oct 1864.
He lied about his age and claimed to be 19 even though he was about 16 years
old.
His family shows up in the 1876 agricultural census of Christian Co., MO in
1876.
He died before 1880 because his widow is living with her parents in Barry Co. MO
in 1880.
Lourany died 24 Nov 1888 in Barry Co., MO and is buried in
I have a picture of her tombstone. I have yet to find Albert’s exact
date of death or place of burial.
